High Seas: Project Blue Prospects

High Seas has been a fun set in both Limited and for Classic Constructed, but theres one thing in specific from this set that will be looked at I think and that is Equipment. We actually get some good pieces to be considered for Project Blue in the future.

First Card to bring up is Old Knocker. I think this Generic Chest is better than Blossom of Spring. Blossom of Spring always seemed like a good default place to work out from for chest piece. Old Knocker however is going to allow you to block 1 if needed and to use its ability at instant speed. The Tapping isnt going to affect a majority of heroes and having a way to generate Pitch value at instant speed will provide useful for Wizards, I really enjoy the idea of this card.

The next card is going to be one I wrote about in the Azalea write up. Gladewell Fins is a Ranger equipment for Arms with Battleworn on it. While the ability is the same as Bull’s Eye Bracers, Gildewell Fins costs 1 to use. I think having to pay 1 to use this ability is fine given we get Battleworn with it. The other Battleworn Ranger Arms are Majestic, so now we have access to Battleworn in Project Blue here. I think this Equipment piece has a place and shouldnt be overlooked, but we still use Bull’s Eye Bracers for the Wizard matchup of course.

And for the last card I’d like to bring up, this one isnt an equipment, but it is a generic that can fit into a lot of decks. Crash Down the Gates is decent value up front, 3 cost 6 power, unfortunately a 2 block but thats okay. Whats cool about this card is that it is going to mill the top card of the opponents deck, which yes it could be a hit or a miss, but its value. Also a cool interaction with this is anytime it gets pumped, it just increases the amount of cards we get to hit. I also like this card because its an easy target for sideboarding. If youre playing against Gravy Bones in Project Blue, side it out, theres no situation should it be in there, dont risk it. If youre playing against guardian, its up to you, if you have enough pump cards to hit larger targets, it could be potentially devastating.
